Introduction
Amarkantak is a hill station with pilgrim heritage. It lies in eastern part of Madhya Pradesh on Maikal hills. Normally it is described as pilgrimage destination but apart from pilgrimage, it is also a popular hill station with thrill of nature tourism. This region is densely forested. It is unique plateau destination through which many rivers have there origin like Narmada, Son or Sone, Johilla etc. Due to its spiritual ambience and peaceful location, many Hindu, Buddhist, Jain saints spend some part of there life in Amarkantak to do meditation and spiritual practices. Politically, it is located close to Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh state border thus easily accessible by devotees and tourists of both the states.
